Total Days Elapsed
This is the exact number of calendar days from your start date to your end date. A span from 01/01/2024 to 12/31/2024 returns 365 days. Every day in between counts, including weekends and holidays.
Leap Year Effect
Leap years add one extra day (February 29) to the count. A 4-year span that includes a leap day returns 1,461 days instead of 1,460. Over 25 years, you accumulate roughly 6 leap days, which is why dividing by 365.25 is more accurate than 365.
Inclusive vs. Exclusive Counting
The calculator counts elapsed time, not the number of dates touched. From 03/01 to 03/02 you get 1 day, not 2. If you need inclusive counting — like counting hotel nights where both check-in and check-out count — add 1 to the result.
Age in Days vs. Age in Years
A 30-year-old is roughly 10,958 days old (30 × 365.25). Someone born 06/15/1995 is 10,905 days old on 06/15/2025. Days give you precision that years hide — useful for pediatric milestones or legal age thresholds.
Converting Days to Months
